In the city of Escalon 911 requests for ambulances are initially received and screened by Escalon Police and then transferred to Life Com communications center located in Salida. All 911 calls that occur outside the city of Escalon are received by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s department screened and sent directly to Life Com. Life Com will take your information while alerting ECA and appropriate fire departments depending upon need.

Remember it may seem like taking time to call and send for an ambulance is eating up valuable time but statistics prove that sending emergency care to the victim always wins over transporting without proper life support.

ECA offers basic life support / gurney transportation on an appointment basis. On demand calls can be made but service availability is not guaranteed. This service is designed for patients who cannot safely sit up or ride in a wheel chair due to medical conditions. ECA will transport patients to and from local medical appointments. These ambulances are staffed by Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) who provide basic care such as oxygen or comfort positioning. They also monitor vital signs and can provide emergency life support if necessary. A physician’s approval is needed in the form of a PCS. A PCS is required for Medicare and most insurance carriers to approve payment.

Wheel Chair service is like basic life support / gurney transportation is on and appointment basis and on demand calls are not guaranteed availability. Wheel Chair service is designed to fill the need that public Para transit service cannot. Service can be scheduled anytime. Medi Cal is the only insurance that covers the cost of Wheel Chair services. Quotes for the service can be requested prior to scheduling. Wheel Chair vans are staffed by EMT’s who are skilled at visual assessment. At times a wheel chair patient may be denied transport due to patient physical condition at the time of service and will be rescheduled .

This service is provided to groups or organizations who need to have emergency medical personnel present during their event. This service is charged by the hour and quotes are available by contacting our office.

ECA can provide custom instruction in CPR and Emergency medical care for groups or individual. CPR is provided to the public at reasonable cost. Scheduling can be made by contacting our office.
